Privacy statement
Last updated: 14 August 2026
This privacy statement is about this website: what the site processes, why, for how long and what your rights are. Separate terms apply to the handling of a case; you receive those with the engagement confirmation.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is:
- Advocatenkantoor Eizenga
- Postbus 112, 3958 ZV Amerongen, the Netherlands
- Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 30265176
- Email and telephone: see the contact details on the homepage
The firm has not appointed a data protection officer; this is not required for a firm of this size.
What this website processes
This website has no contact form, no login and no accounts. You can use the site fully without leaving any data behind.
- Website statistics via Google Analytics, only if you give consent. If you decline, nothing is loaded and nothing is sent.
- Your language, theme and cookie choices, stored in your browser’s local storage. That data stays on your own device and is never transmitted.
If you contact us by email or telephone, that reaches the office directly and not through this website. Such correspondence is covered by the attorney’s duty of confidentiality, which goes further than the GDPR requires.
Why, and on what legal basis
- Website statistics, to see which pages are visited and how visitors find the site — basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may withdraw that consent at any time.
- Language, theme and cookie preferences, so the site behaves the way you set it — basis: legitimate interest in a functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data never leaves your device.
How long data is kept
- Website statistics: 14 months in Google Analytics.
- Your cookie choice: one year, after which we ask again.
- Your language and theme preference: until you clear the site data in your browser.
Who data is shared with
Only with the parties needed to run the website:
- ANiC CloudWorks in Utrecht, the Netherlands — the hosting provider of this website, with whom a data processing agreement is in place. They process the server logs.
- Google Ireland Limited, for website statistics, only where consent is given. A data processing agreement with Google is in place.
No data is sold and no advertising takes place. Advertising features, Google Signals and data sharing with Google are switched off.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Google Analytics may process data on servers outside the EEA. Google relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for such transfers. If you do not consent to statistics, this transfer does not take place.
Security
The website is served exclusively over a secure connection (HTTPS) and loads no third-party components other than, after your consent, Google Analytics.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- have processing restricted;
- object to processing;
- receive your data in a commonly used format;
- withdraw consent at any time.
The quickest way to withdraw cookie consent is the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom of every page. For other requests, use the contact details on the homepage. We respond within one month.
Making a complaint
If you disagree with how we handle your data, please tell us first. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), Postbus 93374, 2509 AJ Den Haag, the Netherlands.
Changes
We may amend this statement. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
